Lightbulb Flat Layout and Series Display

Some of you might have noticed a new icon on the top right corner of the screen under the moon/star icon.

Depending on which section you're in (map/satellite/radar/darksky/meteogram) and which model or time range you are looking at you can now display a range of tiles in a flattened layout with a variety of combinations. If you like to see everything in one view and be able to zoom and pan at will then this is for you.

Here's how it works.

In the meteogram and dark sky sections:
Select GFS or ACCESS.
Clicking on the icon will bring up a button to display all GFS meteograms or all ACCESS meteograms for your selected location.

In the map section:

Select the model, map type and time first.

For ACCESS:
If you are within the range +1h to +36h you can:
Plot all ACCESS-C maps from +1h to +36h in 1h increments.
Plot ACCESS-C vs. ACCESS-R from +3h to +36h in 3h increments.
Plot ACCESS-C vs. ACCESS-R vs. GFS from +3h to +36h in 3h increments.
Plot ACCESS-C vs. Satellite from +1h up to the latest satellite image.

Example 1:
I want to see how close the cloud model predictions match the day+night satellite image.
1_ Select a Cloud layer from the map section.
2_ Go to the satellite section and select day+night.
3_ Click on the layout icon and select "DISPLAY ACCESS-C vs. SATELLITE".

Example 2:
I want to evaluate the seeing conditions for a given time period.
1_ Go to map and select wind.
2_ Click the gold lock on Jetstream (this will overlay the jetstream).
3_ Click on the layout icon.
4_ in the menu select "DISPLAY OVERLAY SIDE BY SIDE"

The wind and jetstream tiles will be plotted side by side for your selected model and selected time range. You can compare any other maps from any other model this way.

Time ranges:
For all ACCESS models:
Selected time between +1 and +36 will plot +1 to +36 [ACCESS-C]
Selected time between +36 and +120 will plot +3 to +120 [ACCESS-R/G]
Selected time between +120 and +240 will plot +120 to +240 [ACCESS-G]

For all GFS model:
Selected time between +3 and +120 will plot +3 to +120 [GFS]
Selected time between +120 and +240 will plot +120 to +240 [GFS]

*tip: The plotted ranges correspond to the animation ranges.

In the satellite section:
Clicking on the icon will plot the selected satellite type over the time range selected (2h, 4h or 6h).

In the radar section:
Clicking on the icon will plot the selected radar range (512,256,128 or 64km if available) over the time range selected (1h or 3h).

Have a play around. Any questions, issues or requests please let us know.
