Also, which do I need for my potential setup? 1.25 inch or 2 inch? I will be using a DSLR camera (Nikon D7000) with possible upgrade to a dedicated astrophotography camera in the future, and will be hopefully using a Bintel f/5 reflector 200/1000. A coma corrector might also be thrown in the mix.

I don’t want vignetting on the corners, so is it safer to just go 2 inch?

Many thanks,

Hi Stephane,

The Nikon D7000 has an APSc sized sensor and with its ~28.3mm sensor diagonal would not suit a 1.25inch type filter without vignetting.

As to a light pollution filter recommendation... Would you want to use it with any lenses or telescopes you currently own? If so, it would be good to know some details of those.

Best
