Markus, personally I never start below 40 degrees, and yes luminance should be reserved for the zenith altitudes if possible. For RGB, I start with R, simply because it is less of a skyglow component in my area. With my preferred narrowband filters, it becomes less of an issue. I have found using Ha as luminance can really change things, depending on the target of course.
