Hi Chrys- I’ve got the 290mm and am very happy with its performance but never done a side by side comparison with the 120mm. Probably the biggest difference being the larger sensor size and I think it’s more sensitive too and lower noise. But might help if you give a bit more info about your setup to see if you are likely to need to spend extra $$ for those advantages. If it’s using long fl oag etc then I’d say yes it’s very worth it. For a short fl guide scope maybe not.
As a side note - the 290mm is a very handy planetary/solar/lunar camera too.
