PHP guiding the Nexstar 4/5SE mount via the Handcontroller
Ok, I have got a few question in regards to PHP guiding the Nexstar 4/5SE mount via the hand controller.
Can this be done. Can the handcroller be used as the port to guide with while connected to the PC via the 232 port?
Can this be done with a planetary cam like the Neximage SSI without any long exposure mods?
Would guiding like this actually be usefull?
I intend on using my 600D with a 300mm lens piggybacked ontop. I can currently get 3 minute subs in EQ mode which is great, and the Neximage with the 4inch 4SE ota as the guiding scope.
Keep in mind that this is in EQ mode, I have done a few mods so that getting an EQ alignment with the wedge is possible and relatively accurate considering that it is not a GEM.
Would this be a lot more effort than it is worth???
Also (final question, I promise!) What drivers would I need?
