This is true but I must admit that I find it a PITA to put the cap on the scope, go back to the puter and take a dark, take the cap back off and then start the guider. If you change any settings like the gain or the exp length you then have to repeat the process. The STi just automagically takes a dark whenever I change any setting. I stay seated and don't risk walking around the scope and tripping on cables etc.
Clearly the lodestar and STi are both very good guiders that are not too expensive. Certainly vastly better than my original QHY5 but I still use the QHY at times and it certainly works, just not as well.
