A very inexpensive solution is to go to your auto mechanic & ask for a car battery that is not up to the task of powering a car but will still be ok for a small 12v system.

I have a good relationship with my mechanic & I haven't paid for one of these batteries for years. They may last a couple of years but so what - they cost next to nothing other than the power used to recharge them.

I usually have two on the go at home so if one does die then I am not left without power.

Which reminds me one of mine did just die a couple of weeks ago & I need to go get another when lockdown conditions here lift.

Car batteries are heavy suckers, so I also have a smaller SLA one for some smaller mounts.

Alex.
