I use a rectangular piece of stiff foam with a slit half way up and a hole in the middle to slide over the OTA to act as a shield to keep my eyes in shadow. I think I will cut this so it fits into the top of the tool box.

Good idea, Brian. I might have a play with doing something similar with the soft foam in top of my box. It should still work as long as it isn't too windy!
