Guys looks at things it perspective you haven't spent anywhere near $10,000-$20,000 or more on a boat (money pit) or $50,000 on a car both of which quickly loose their appeal with age. Or as I know of some who spend a further $10,000-15,000 more on a shed to house it all. How many cars have you brought in your life that depreciate away to nothing. The kids may call you a nerd but you are a happy nerd and when you pass away all that lovely equipment can be inherited by the kids or donated to some school for future generations to enjoy.
No I won't validate or justify what I spend on my hobby it makes me happy and thats all that counts.
At least I'm not pouring a $100-200 a pop down the drain everytime I take that lovely boat out, "when was that, oh!!, how many times a year, really is that all !!!
