You gave up too early. I have found the MMOAG to be a wonderful accessory and rock solid. OAG can be a little tricky to focus but once you've got that sorted its pretty reliable. The little grub screws fixing mechanism is fine but I have had it catch on an adapter not seated properly but rarely.

You can put a GSO .5X reducer on the end of an STi for brighter stars at the expense of some focal length and perhaps a tad less accuracy.

30 minutes would be no problem for a MMOAG as well. Flex usually is from other components or adapters. MMOAG on my CDK with the extremely strong Planewave adapter has been super reliable and guide stars rarely an issue.

I like the look of the Alluna OAG though with its rotating head. US$1199 is actually not that expensive as MMOAG is about $1000 including the various adapters you need. 4inch opening would mean special adapters as 3 inch seems to be the standard for many devices.

Greg.
