I’m afraid I have to disagree with you on this. The Tarantula is the largest EMISSION nebula known which makes it a major Ha source. So your loss of Ha signal has been almost entire. Can I suggest you have a look at the YouTube video I referenced earlier. I found it a very interesting discussion and explanation for the phenomenon you are experiencing.
