Looking at it again, I think the colour variation within the Cats Paw is pretty subtle and while there certainly
is some, there is also a lot of reddening intervening dust between us and it too, soooo, probably somewhere between a burnt orangy-red and magenta is the likely reality
.. so I think it is largely semantics..but it is clearly not a nebula to image if you are after wildly differing colour hues
