Sunset to Widefield DSO

Sunset, Blue Hour, Milky Way and widefield DSO.

A couple of fellow amateur astronomers and I met up just south of Mandurah WA for a short night of imaging on the 4th of September. We started at Lake Clifton just before sunset then a short drive to Island point Reserve for some Milky Way and widefield DSO.

First image was taken at Lake Clifton just on sunset but got swarmed by mozzies so we quickly left as we all forgot the insect spray. The rest of the images are at Island Point Reserve.

Images 1 to 4 are with a Canon 700D, Sigma 10mm f/2.8 Fisheye lens on a camera tripod.
Images 5 and 6 are with a Sony a5000, Yashica DSB 135mm f/2.8 at f/5.6 on the Sky-Watcher AZ-GTi mount with EQ wedge mod.
Image 5 - Lagoon and Trifid nebula, 48 x 30sec, ISO 3200.
Image 6 - Omega and Eagle nebula, 57 x 30sec, ISO 3200.

The Yashica DSB 135mm doesn't quite come to focus with my adapter but it comes very close and is necessary to stop the lens down to at least f/5.6 to control flaring,CA and astigmatism from bright stars. A capable old school 35mm film camera lens but there's certainly much better 135mm legacy lenses out there.
