Sony NEX or other ILC for astrophotography

This camera appears to be an excellent camera for astrophotography when I read specs and test results. Fine grained 3200 ASA pictures comparable with EOS 60 class camera and 1080p filming. It has also the same sensor size (APS-C, strictly slightly larger 24x16mm). And on ebay are adapters available to fit Canon EF, Nikon or other mounts.
Same quality but much lighter than an SLR. Rather reasonable price (about $700).
Is there a catch ?
I am considering purchase of this camera (and keep my 40d) + EF adapter.

Does somebody have experience with this (or similar) cameras ?
