Yay or Nay? DIY Astrophotography

Hey all,

I recently bought at this webcam, I took it apart and removed all the housing for it leaving me with a board with a USB cable attached.. It still works perfect as I did test it.

What my plan is, mounting the board with hot glue or tape or something to the end of a 35mm Film canister. After the housing is off the webcam there is a little lens that sticks out about 3/4 of a centimetre and about 1/2 a centimetre wide. I was going to drill a whole into the lid of the canister and then pop the lens through and cut the bottom out of the canister then just drop that directly into the lens part of the scope.

What I originally tried doing was mounting the webcam to my 25mm lens but had no luck at all.. What will I be able to see with just the webcam and a film canister without any zoom lens's on it?

Thanks for any help!
