Welcome Mick. You can get some good results with your tracker and the Nikon. I strongly suggest that you learn to get the best out of your Nikon before plunging into the expensive world of mounts, scopes, guiding,
and a plethora of software. You will then be able to make a much more informed decision about what equipment will best suit your needs.
I and others using DSLRs have had images published in astro mags, so
don't go thinking that you need to immediately plunge into fancy gear.
Some things in AP are counterintuitive to newbies coming from conventional
terrestrial photography, so start by learning and practicing the basics.
