The question I have; would a GSO RC 12 or 14 perform better? What about a 14inch f/8 ACF?.. will a 6 inch refractor be able to grasp enough light for small galaxies? Lastly, what about dobsonians?
A 6 inch refractor would be great, but boy that'd be some cost

Thought about a Celestron 9.25 Edge HD? It's a bit slow at f/10 so you need long subs. But it's got a very long f/l and for southern hemisphere galaxies, that's beneficial as we don't have big targets like Andromeda or the Triangulum to shoot.
