thanks for that info Rally. If the software adds 100 to everything, then that just forms part of the "Bias" bit and drops out in the wash. It should not affect the operation of the targetADU method at all.
I agree that there is no substitute for long overall exposure. We seem to disagree when it comes to the idea that, if subs are long enough to bury read noise, the end result from the combination of many such subs is the same as that from a smaller number of much longer subs that results in the same overall exposure.
