I agree with bob about this also.
Having had both tennis elbow and a partial tear in the distal bicep tendon previously (gym also). Having a routine of regular active rehabilitation is key to getting better.
A combination of gradual increase in difficulty (within pain tolerances) of the exercises, nightly massaging of the forearm muscles (tennis ball works great ironincally) and icing the area of pain. I used adjustable hand strength grips to strengthen the forearm muscles.
But be patient with the rehab. It can take 3 or more months to completely regain full strength without pain. As for the elbow brace, yes they can help with the pain and support the muscles when getting things done, but I would concentrate on the rehab for the actual recovery.
