Well I think it was a bust last night. The Orionids didn't put on much of a show up until 1:00 when I called it quits. There were a few meteors with one in particular getting a real "Fwooarr!!!" from me but generally it was pretty quiet. The good one went from about 20° above the northeastern horizon to almost the southwestern horizon and had a lit up tail about 90° long overall. It was really spectacular.

I ended up using the 17 - 40 @ ISO1600 with 45 sec exposures in continuous shooting mode, from about 10 pm to 12:30am. I should be able to do a great animation of Orion rising.
