Very clever indeed. I've been reading bits and pieces about the Fujifilm S3 Pro over the last few weeks that uses this technology and gets an almost real 12mp out of a 6mp sensor. Overall it seems the image quality it produces is very good. It's based on the Nikon F80 35mm camera which is a pretty good place to start. Other good thing is it uses Nikon F mount lens. I'd be interested to see how it performs on astro photo's considering how low they reckon the amount of noise is, and with this new technology it uses to bring out more detail etc. Here's one review and some test figures for noise http://www.bythom.com/fujis3review.htm
