Narrow band filters are not normally used on galaxies apart from Ha which will enhance areas of nebulosity within the structure. These are usually used in conjunction with your LRGB filters. Good luck with the 8 inch Newt, hope the skies are clear for you but you'll have to contend with a waxing gibbous moon. Maybe you could try your narrow band under these conditions.
