Be gentle, it's my first time!

https://flic.kr/p/LPQeF4First post here!

I was part of the ABC's "Stargazing Live" event earlier this year and took my trusty Fujifilm X-Pro1 out with me to a chilly Centennial Park in Sydney. I completely forgot all of the hastily-read guides on star photography but managed to get a smattering of pinpoints on my first shots. I was hooked!

Impressed that my "happy snap" camera could pick up more stars than I could see with my naked eye, I did some PROPER research, light pollution maps, YouTube starter guides, lots and lots of Google searches...

I've been out a half dozen time since then. I've bought a manual shutter release cable. I've learned and used Deep Sky Stacker. I've fired up an old version of Photoshop to actually play with Levels, Curves, Exposure, Vignetting... oh my!

Here's my favourite shot. Yes, I tweaked the colour way out of proportion, but I'm just so happy with the detail and vibrancy! I do have sharper shots, I do have longer shots, I do have more realistic shots. But this one just speaks to me!
