The 40 has a fair bit of field curvature or so I've been told. I have a flat field scope so it isn't a problem, and it is a beautiful wide field EP.
Unless you're using a corrected scope of some kind, you'd probably be better off with an LVW, or lighter still a Baader Aspheric. The 2" XW were also expensive when available.
