Well as a combined xmas/birthday present, I bought myself a Canon 20D off ebay. Picked it up for a pretty good price.

So now i'll have the 20D and the 350D. I'll get one of them modded (filter removal only, not cooled) and dedicate it to astro use, and keep the other for terrestrial use.

RB (whose advice is golden) reckons the 20D is better suited as the terrestrial camera, and use the 350D as the astro-camera.

Unfortunately the 20D requires a different battery from the 350D, and probably different connectors for the timer remote etc, but I'll gather these items over the next month or two.

I'm excited!
