This might not help, but this was my journey.
1. 5x40 binos - got a lot of use out of them, still use them
2. 3 inch scope - saw a bit of the solar system, not bad for a cheap start
3. 10inch dob, got a lot of use, but I got bored of deep space, using it now, to show my kids solar system
4. 5inch APO for photography, currently using it
5. 25x100bino, haven't used yet, needs collimation.
5. 16 inch dob...rescued from the rubbish, needs new mirror...maybe this will rekindle my love for live viewing.
