I found Ebay about the only place for lots of DSLRs. But...I felt sellers were asking too much for the likes of the 20d's and the 450Ds 2nd hand were way too much.
So I ended up buying a 450D with std 18/55 IS lens for under 1K.
You can buy a new 1000D body for around $650 Aust which is around the price of many Ebay 2nd hand older model rigs.
At that price the 1000D body is looking good!
