The 2600MC is a completely different camera to the 1600
The 2600MC has no unity gain
It’s safe to set it to Gain 100 as you get the lowest read noise for optimum dynamic range
I’ve been using both with Gain 100 and Gain 0 with good results although I have found during a quarter to full moon , Gain 100 has been better for narrowband imaging
See attached 2600MC charts, you can see Gain vs Read noise chart that read noise jumps after Gain 100 but in saying that you don’t reach full well , that’s the trade off
So my experience after having the camera for nearly 12 months
Gain 100 for 60 sec to 3 minute subs under moon for narrowband
Gain 0 for 60 sec to 5 minute + subs in the dark

Other folk may have found different experiences

Cheers
Martin
