My favourite cluster of all time is NGC 6231 in Scorpius. When it gets a bit higher in the sky, I shall be photographing it with my Meade DSI. I've got a Meade LX100 8 inch SCT with field flatteners 6.3 and 3.3 which work pretty good, but I cant work the Meade supplied software - kernels, histograms, sliders, gamma, as for the 256 grey shades hopeless. You need a PHD to understand all that!
