Packed house at the Great Hall tonight for the Schmidt Lecture.

Different from last years AAS lecture with more of a focus on the contribution Australian astronomy has played in developing radio astronomy and is playing today, though with a series of segways into the usual very interesting cosmological concepts and of course, "just exactly how fast is your universes' growth accelerating.."

Used this as an opportunity to catch up with an ex colleague who "almost" became an astronomer in South Africa but ended up as a Finance Manager.

Great fun, very interesting and thanks for the tip off, Pete
