Stefan, please keep us informed with your progress. Agree, the lighting kits can be very expensive, although I guess one is paying for the 'plug and play' and time saving as well. Just for fun, I attach pictures of two ST kits I did a while ago. Toys R' Us were running out Bird of Prey kits for $10 each, so I couldn't resist. Also, a friend donated me his old badly built/derelict AMT Enterprise model; I completely rebuilt and re-decaled the kit. Whilst it's a 'cute' build, I now realise I made no attempt for scale, detail, nor weathering - so the end result is far too toy-like.
