Lets see - some of the more memorable experiences

1) I purchased a diagonal from a IIS member in WA who didn't expend a cent in packing the item and unsurprisingly it was broken when it arrived.

2) I agreed to buy an eyepiece and the IIS member flat out renegged on the deal.

3) I purchased refractors on two separate occasion wherein the respectivee IIS members have obviously engaged in false and misleading representations concerning the condition of the scope - put simply in plain English they said there was nothing wrong with the scope but when it arrived it was obviously damaged/defective and hence why they were off-loading it.

4) When selling a rather expensive OTA an IIS member contacted me wanting to purchase it via personal cheque. For some bizarre reason this IIS member couldn't grasp and indeed became quite upset when I indicated to him I wouldnt accept payment via cheque or at least wouldn't let the OTA go until the cheque had cleared.

5) I won't even get started with the examples of IIS members who reneg on undertakings to buy. I honestly can't recall how many I have experienced. Suffice to say I don't even react anymore and simply move on.

:rofl :
Jeez, that is quite a few bad experiences. I am not sure I would be laughing about it if it were me.

The only one bad experience, if you could call it that, which I ever had on IIS was with an apathetic seller whom openly admitted that he could be bothered getting back to me regarding a few questions I had about a mount he had for sale.
