Hello, Robert

The specs say 16kgs for my EM200 Temma2. However, to give you an idea of the capability of this mount, I recently loaded my EM200 Temma2 (with Vixen dovetail adapter for OTA) as follows:
  • Celestron C9.25 CF with bottom dovetail plate and top mounting plate
  • Pentax *istDS DSLR
  • Orion 9x50 Finderscope
  • Williams Optics 80mm ED triplet with 90mm rings and mounting plate
  • SBIG ST7E ccd
  • Dew shield
  • Dew heaters
  • A plethora of cables

It required 3 x 5kg + 1 x 3.8kg weight to balance the assembly. So, that adds up to 18.8kg.

The mount autoguided accurately using the ST7E and I would say that it was at its limit. The EM200 handled the weight manfully and was easy to balance, but it "felt" that any more weight would be a case of abusing its capability. There was no wind. There was no room on the counterweight shaft for any other weights. I was very, very impressed with its performance and capability at this upper limit.

You are welcome to call in and have a look at my mount, just PM me and we can arrange a time.

Cheers

Dennis
