I agree re Dropbox. It works really well because it links into your computer's filesystem, i.e. it just appears as a normal folder that you can copy files into/from - and the synchronisation happens in the background.

It will also automatically determine what your maximum upload rate is, and back off a little, so that it doesn't saturate the uplink and kill downloads (a bit of an issue with ADSL connections).

If you have multiple computers on the same local network, it will transfer the data internally on the network (without going out to the Internet) to save on uploads/downloads.
