does the mount do correct GOTOs when using the SynScan hand controller? If so, that would rule out incorrect SynScan settings (date format, DST and coordinates inputs lend themselves to mistakes).
I'd double-check the location and time settings in SkySafari next, even though automatic GPS based settings should be ok. There could be a bug lurking there somewhere.
Another thing to double-check is the telescope settings. The telescope type (Skywatcher Synscan) is obvious but mode of operation (EQ vs AltAz) is sometimes overlooked (by me anyway
).
I haven't use the SkyWire myself, but it works with the SkyFi box and a direct serial cable from the Mac to the hand controller, and I don't see how there would be any conceptual differences there.
