My recent experience of importing a G11 is the perfect example. Delivery alone was $424 US and you do have to pay GST on that
I ended up saving only about $250 Aus in the end, I think I worked it out to be. Hardly worth the effort but an interesting exercise none the less.
If its a big item with warranty considerations....FWIW IMHO Get it in Australia.
