Thanks everyone and thanks David you have given me something to think about non-perpendicular camera position, I always just put the slightly blobby and pear shaped stars down to the alt/az limitations, tracking error and stacking, every sub was taken in alt/az with no guiding and even at 15sec the subs have slightly curved stars and more so at the edge of the field. I will definitly look into the non-perpendicular camera position problem.
