And the 'Serrurier' family grows. Nice build, well done. Skeletope II came in at just over 11 kg for a 10" without mirrors. All up on the EQ6 is about17kg
Thanks Brent. I'm suprised there are not more of these scopes.

Very impressive build there Stephen. This design is super sturdy
and I'm sure you'll enjoy its stability and performance over the
years. It looks very similar to mine.
I'm currently building a 12.5" version and yes Mr. Royce has been
delaying my order several times, now I understand why. I ordered
in Oct last year, and last I heard was it should be ready by June
so maybe not too far off now
Congratulations on such a fine build!
Thanks Rolf.
Your scope was one of the inspirations to get of my butt
and build a scope with some great glass.
Alistair
very impressive build and good to see a different approach with the focuser.
that dual stepper solution is ingenious, but how did you manage to fix the
nut in the timing pulley for the threaded rod, and does the threaded rod
exhibit any backlash especially when you've focused on one side of the
meridian and you flip over, does the focus change at all?
what does it weigh with mirrors and camera?
Thanks Alistair
I ground off the thread from the end of the rod and tapped it for an M5 nut. Then
used two miniature flanged bearings on either side of the square tubing with the
rod/5mm washer pressing against one on one side and a 5mm nut(loctited) and a 5mm
washer pressing against the other side. The rod is fitted with anti-backlash drive
nuts and at the moment I'm not getting any change in focus from side to side. The
4.5mm carbon fibre plate is enormously strong and there is no flex there either.
The timing pulleys have two grub screws to secure them and some loctite was applied
between the pulley and the thread to keep it secure.
Cheers
Stephen
