Any reason why your shooting at ISO400, I think the 60DA can handle 800 very well, , ?

Sorry for the late reply i have been on a site with no/really bad internet.

I have been reading Digital SLR Astrophotography by Michael Covington in which he recommends starting at iso400 and seeing where it goes from there. The only problem is that night i didn't have a way to view the histograms to check what was happening behind the scenes so stuck with iso400 to be on the safe side. Looking at them when i got back i probably should have upped the iso to 800 as some were slightly under exposed.
