Yes, Leyburn was very dark last weekend, an absolute pleasure to watch the Milky Way slide overhead until dawn on Sat and Sun mornings....
Cheers Greg, I'm happy with 1st light and the challenges ahead to improve mate Been a while seeing the MW glorifying the night sky, i manage a quick photo of the zodiacal light on Sun morn, A sight for sore eyes

what iso setting did you have the 600d on bob?

cheers

Cheers Russel, I like to keep at iso800 as used with this, kinda feel safer with noise levels and slightly better dynamic range than 1600, tho others have used 1600 with great results
All the best

Thanx Mike, appreciate your feedback on colour, can only try so not overdo things, tho I'll leave all them techno colour hubble paletts for a while yet

There are programs to reduce star smearing a little in post from memory. You've got a LOT of faint galaxy detail there for sure
Hey Cheers Rob, I find that cheap optics give some stars both red & blue at various measures so i treat the blues seperately from the reds, unorthodox but still practical i feel. And yep, have a star smear fixer tute here somewhere, never thought at the time Also lucky that guiding errors ran similar direction as dust lane, so not a major loss in most detail, kinda consider that very fortunate
