strengthening mount for ED80

Last night, I used my ED80 on Saturn for the first time. Seeing was poor, but I had a great time using my own scope for the first time. Even the wife was impressed.

I am, however, left with a minor problem: at high magnifications, the image wobbles for a few seconds after adjusting the focus or the slow motion controls. The effect is not too bad, as it only lasts a few seconds, but I'd like to find out if there is a way to minimise this effect.

Any suggestions?
Would placing a heavy weight on the tripod tray minimise the effect?
