Quick Milky Way

All,

Here's a quick integration of 1 hour of data (tracked on the Polarie) captured on Saturday night, during my lunch break at work.

This is straight out of PixInsight so is missing contrast enhancement that I would normally perform in Photoshop. I also need to work on the DBE to flatten the gradient.

Lots of coma at the edges, but, that's what you get shooting at f/4 wide open.

Quite happy with the performance of the 5D Mark III at ISO-1600!

12 x 300 secs f/4.0 at 17.0mm iso1600

Slightly larger version available here.

The attached thumbnail is very bodgy as it has been resized from 260 KB to 57 KB by the forum attachment upload method.

Thanks for looking!
