Seems like a logical step for businesses (like my work) but seems crazy for users like many of the members of this forum who don't use it full-time and don't generate an income from it.

Hopefully this will provide an opportunity to get some competition to these tools, Photoshop is the best at what it does but there are always new and better ways of doing things. I see it like Shake/Nuke/Flame/etc. vs AfterFX, node based vs linear... where is the 'Nuke' of still image manipulation? or vector illustration? seems like a huge opportunity to redefine the way this kind of work is done.
I like GIMP too but it works in the same way, using the same concepts, as PS... time for something new and better.

And as ingrained in the design pipeline as CS is just look at Final Cut, by far the most widely used editor at the prosumer level for many years but it only took one stuffed version and now nobody uses it anymore, and I knew many FCP die hards, they all went to Premier or to more professional edit systems. (my work went to Premier and Smoke after almost 10 years using FCP)

Oh and this isn't just on Mac only of course, Windows versions are the same.
