We often have good clear skies... until the fog rolls in and spoils it for us. The icy cold mornings would probably put a few people off though. The first night I tested out my telescope I spent 4 hours outside with the thermometer in the negatives! I didn't even have gloves on but I couldn't drag myself away long enough to go find them
I started wrapping an old electric blanket over my telescope and bought myself an electric throw rug. I plan is to convert the throw rug into a dressing gown and get someone to make me a battery pack so I can ditch the cable
