I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago to replace my 5 1/2 year old Toshiba laptop. Cost only $1400 from Flingshot (price has now increased). It has 2 1TB internal drives and I may swap one out for a SSD at some stage in the future. In the meantime though it's pretty zippy as is and runs everything I need well including Maxim DL, CCDstack2, Firecapture, Autostakkert, Registax, PHD Guiding. It manages to write planetary cam files to the HD at over 100fps without dropping any frames. The screen has good resolution and reasonable quality - slight variation in illumination when you move far off centre. Lack of backlit keys was an advantage to save alienating dark adapted friends. I've also read comments about the poor reliability rate of HP laptops but this suited my needs so well I thought I'd give it a go. Not disappointed so far.
