I work as a service tech mainly on laptops. My choice of brands based on faults and reliability are as follows
I like.. Sony, Toshiba and Asus. Acre is not too bad dependent on the model.
I would not purchase... HP, Compaq based on poor quality. Bad backup and high level of faults...
This is only my opinion based on what I see on a day to day basis. I service and repair around 15 systems per day.. When I purchase I like others want the best price. The cheapest price is nice, but not what I look for. It's all about value for money for me. That includes backup, reliability, parts, quality and price.
