you know a funny thing happened on the way to that image - the single stack was lacking in depth and detail, i couldn't tune it properly as the seeing was crud. so i screwed the second etalon back on ready to put the cover back on and then it struck me, the detail was there. only got one shot. the secret was i couldnt get it tuned so i did a region of interest
to cut out the bright band
