I don't know if the DSI is threaded for filters, but in principle, yes. They work by cutting out most of the light except a few narrow bands of frequencies which contain the atomic emission lines responsible for most of the light emitted (or reflected) by gaseous nebulae. So they darken the sky (cutting out most of the light pollution, but also starlight) without darkening the nebula very much.
