It's amazing what a difference a truly dark sky makes to the collection of data! This is an hour's worth of data using the Atik 314L+ and the 8" reflector on the HEQ5 Pro. A few niggles with the polar alignment (or my brain) out in the field meant I didn't get as many photos of things that I would have liked to on the Thursday night, this was taken on the Friday, when there was a fair bit of hazy cloud ruining some sub-exposures.

I might do a reprocess later on, don't know if I got the colours right....?

hi chris,

nice work - I would've liked to see a bit more colour in there!

I did a quick extra colour version - I hope you don't mind!
keep in mind im no authority!

- minor level adjustment
- lowered exposure, to reduce the core
- upped the saturation
- added a bit more vibrancy
- a bit more mid-tone contrast

there seemed to be a bit of green in space when you adjusted the vibrancy, so I upped the black by 1% or so in selective colour. but it needs more work.

Cheers!

ps looked at this version on with a 'real' monitor today and is stretched more than i thought it was on my laptop! i've gone too far! i'm definitely liking yours more now, just wanted to extract some more colour out of it, harder said than done!
