Saturn, 10th April 2013

Hi all, some reasonable seeing this morning for a while, coinciding with a view of the dark vortex in the northern hemisphere.

Here are a couple of RGB images and a 2-frame animation.

ps, as has been noted elsewhere, Saturn is a very difficult target to get both pristine rings and also enhanced detail on the globe. I've been struggling with this for years, and still don't have a sure-fire way to get them both right at the same time... the rings are artifact-magnets, any problem in seeing will cause double edges or ghost images that are very obvious and pretty much impossible to remove after the fact.

cheers, Bird
